Use of silicon barium calcium
Silica-barium calcium alloy is a new type of high efficiency composite alloy in barium alloy. It is the deoxidizer, desulfurizer and dephosphorization agent of steelmaking. It is a inoculant and metamorphic agent in casting.
Barium effectively reduces the vapor pressure of calcium and increases the solubility of calcium in molten steel over the range of steelmaking temperatures. Compared with the silicon calcium alloy, the calcium content of the liquid steel is about twice that of the silicon calcium alloy when the amount of calcium added to the liquid steel is half of that of the silicon calcium alloy, and the calcium content in the liquid steel is also significantly increased. The results showed that barium effectively protected calcium and reduced the oxidation of calcium in the liquid steel, thus achieving the purpose of calcium treatment in the liquid steel.
